- Till is working with several printer manufacturers
  - Did further tests and did several improvements and bug fixes, but
    there are still some problems - HP and also another participating
    manufacturer have been informed.
  - Also need to investigate influence of AppArmor (got a hint about
    problems with that).

- Features
  - Make sure that if libusb_bulk_transfer() times out, that no data
    gets lost or sent twice
  - Assign the packet type HTTP_HEADER_ONLY correctly to packets which
    are server's answer
  - Use more reasonable USB timeouts and improve behavior on timeout
  - Improved management of printer's IPP-over-USB interfaces

- CUPS v2.1.2 (summary) on 2 December 2015
  - Re-release of CUPS 2.1.1 as CUPS 2.1.2 due to error in tagging of
    the 2.1.1 release (pulled content from the 2.2.x tree instead)

- CUPS v2.1.1 (release) withdrawn on 30 November 2015
  - Security hardening fixes (<rdar://problem/23131948>,
    <rdar://problem/23132108>, <rdar://problem/23132353>,
    <rdar://problem/23132803>, <rdar://problem/23133230>,

- CUPS Filters 1.3.0 release plans (Till)
  - cups-browsed: Let the BrowseAllow lines in cups-browsed.conf
    also apply to remote printers discovered via DNS-SD.
  - cups-browsed: Auto-create queues for PCL-5c/e printers but
    not for HP inkjet printers (which also advertise themselves
    as PCL printers).
  - cups-browsed, sys5ippprinter: Recognize PCL-5c/e printers
    not only by the application/vnd.hp-pcl MIME type but also by
    application/pcl and application/x-pcl.

- CUPS Filters v1.2.0 release on 27 November 2015 (Till)
  - NEW release numbers convention
    - middle digit is features - last digit is bugs*
  - Note
    - Not yet committed is the possibility to use only IPv4 or IPv6
      IP addresses when using IP-address-based device URIs.
  - Future work
    - Do changes/fixes so that everything works also well on a phone
    - Looking into whether to support XPS output and how, gstoxps for
      Desktop?  rastertoxps for phone?  Are there enough XPS-only
      printer to make it worth the effort?
  - cups-browsed: When using IP-address-based device URIs via
    the "IPBasedDeviceURIs" directive in cups-browsed.conf, add
    two additional settings to restrict the used IP addresses to
    either only IPv4 addresses or only IPv6 addresses.
  - foomatic-rip: SECURITY FIX: Also consider the back tick
    ('`') as an illegal shell escape character. Thanks to Michal
    Kowalczyk from the Google Security Team for the hint
    (CVE-2015-8327).
